Approved: Brisbane City Council – Advertising Device Application (Willawong)
Brisbane City Council approved an advertising device application for two large business identification signs to an existing warehouse at Willawong.
The proposal involved the installation of two wall-mounted signs to an industrial building within the Low Impact Industry Zone. Due to the size and number of signs, the proposal required a code assessable advertising device application under the Brisbane City Plan.
While signage applications in industrial areas are generally straightforward, they still need to demonstrate that the signage is appropriately scaled, integrated with the building and does not adversely affect the surrounding streetscape. A clear planning assessment and well-prepared application help streamline the approval process and minimise delays.
This approval is a good example of how commercial signage can be delivered efficiently where the proposal responds to the relevant planning requirements from the outset.
