Approved: Brisbane City Council – Extension to a Dwelling House, Traditional Building Character Overlay (Kedron)

Brisbane City Council has approved an extension to a dwelling house at Kedron, on a site within the Traditional Building Character Overlay.

The proposal involved a rear extension beneath the existing raised home, adding a carport, additional bedrooms, and a second bathroom, along with weatherboard cladding and window hoods designed to match the existing character dwelling. As with any project in a character overlay, the design needed to work with the existing building rather than compete with it, extending the footprint and floor area without undermining the traditional streetscape presentation.
